Generating native user interfaces formultiple devices by means ofmodel transformation

摘要: In the last years, the types of devices used to access information systems have notably increased using different operating systems, screen sizes, interaction mechanisms, and software features. This device fragmentation is an important issue to tackle when developing native mobile service front-end applications. To address this issue, we propose the generation of native user interfaces (UIs) by means of model transformations, following the modelbased user interface (MBUI) paradigm. The resulting MBUI framework, called LIZARD, generates applications for multiple target platforms. LIZARD allows the definition of applications at a high level of abstraction, and applies model transformations to generate the target native UI considering the specific features of target platforms. The generated applications follow the UI design guidelines and the architectural and design patterns specified by the corresponding operating system manufacturer. The objective is not to generate generic applications following the lowest-common-denominator approach, but to follow the particular guidelines specified for each target device. We present an example application modeled in LIZARD, generating different UIs for Windows Phone and two types of Android devices (smartphones and tablets).

Functional trait differences between native bunchgrasses and the invasive grass

摘要: We conducted 30- and 60-d greenhouse experiments to compare functional traits of (invasive annual grass) and four perennial bunchgrasses under well-watered or drought conditions. Even under drought, experienced significantly less stress (i.e., higher xylem pressure potential and greater shoot water content, water use per day and water-use efficiency) and biomass production than the perennial grasses after 30 d. However, after 60 d, its superiority was reduced under infrequent watering. Differences among perennial grasses were more pronounced for physiological traits under infrequent watering and for morphological traits under frequent watering. (fast-growing species) had a higher transpiration rate, lower leaf temperature, and lower water-use efficiency than the other grasses after 30 d. In contrast, (slow-growing) had lower xylem pressure potential and higher leaf temperature than all other grasses under infrequent watering. Under frequent watering, shoot dry mass and specific leaf area of was matched by (moderate-growing species). Our results indicate that multiple-species plantings or seedings are necessary to foster greater weed resistance against . We also emphasize that when choosing plant material for restoration, performance during both pulse (resource-rich) and inter-pulse (resource-poor) periods should be considered.

Conceptual study on incorporating user information into forecasting systems

摘要: The purpose of improving weather forecast is to enhance the accuracy in weather prediction. An ideal forecasting system would incorporate user-end information. In recent years, the meteorological community has begun to realize that while general improvements to the physical characteristics of weather forecasting systems are becoming asymptotically limited, the improvement from the user end still has potential. The weather forecasting system should include user interaction because user needs may change with different weather. A study was conducted on the conceptual forecasting system that included a dynamic, user-oriented interactive component. This research took advantage of the recently implemented TIGGE (THORPEX interactive grand global ensemble) project in China, a case study that was conducted to test the new forecasting system with reservoir managers in Linyi City, Shandong Province, a region rich in rivers and reservoirs in eastern China. A self-improving forecast system was developed involving user feedback throughout a flood season, changing thresholds for flood-inducing rainfall that were responsive to previous weather and hydrological conditions, and dynamic user-oriented assessments of the skill and uncertainty inherent in weather prediction. This paper discusses ideas for developing interactive, user-oriented forecast systems.

A lightweight authentication scheme with user untraceability

摘要: With the rapid growth of electronic commerce and associated demands on variants of Internet based applications, application systems providing network resources and business services are in high demand around the world. To guarantee robust security and computational efficiency for service retrieval, a variety of authentication schemes have been proposed. However, most of these schemes have been found to be lacking when subject to a formal security analysis. Recently, Chang (2014) introduced a formally provable secure authentication protocol with the property of user-untraceability. Unfortunately, based on our analysis, the proposed scheme fails to provide the property of user-untraceability as claimed, and is insecure against user impersonation attack, server counterfeit attack, and man-in-the-middle attack. In this paper, we demonstrate the details of these malicious attacks. A security enhanced authentication scheme is proposed to eliminate all identified weaknesses.

Joint user association and resource partition for downlink-uplink decoupling in multi-tier HetNets Article

摘要: 传统蜂窝网络要求移动用户上行和下行连接在相同基站上。然而,由于用户与基站发射功率存在差异,在不同无线环境下,将会导致用户从某基站接收到最强下行信号,但该基站并不能提供最强接收信号的上行链路。而且,由于大量机器设备接入蜂窝网络中,网络上行流量需求增大,从而导致基站下行和上行流量存在严重不对称。在多层异构蜂窝网络环境下,提出了基于上下行解耦的联合用户接入与资源划分模型。区别于现有用户接入异构蜂窝网络的准则,如基于最大用户接收功率和小区范围扩展,提出了基于联合博弈的机制以实现上下行解耦条件下的用户最优接入。对该机制的稳定性和收敛性作了证明,且证明其收敛到纳什均衡点的速率呈几何级数增长。此外,基于上述用户上下行接入的结果,得到了考虑用户公平性条件下的基站下行和上行最优带宽划分。仿真结果显示:相比现有其他用户接入策略,提出的机制有效地提升了网络速率。

Optimal dispatch of multi energy system using power-to-gas technology considering flexible load on user

The relation between power-to-gas technology (P2G) and energy interconnection becomes increasingly close. Meanwhile, the participation of flexible load on user side in system optimization has attracted much attention as an efficient approach to relieve the contradiction between energy supply and energy demand. Based on the concept of energy hub, according to its series characteristic, this paper established a generic multi-energy system model using the P2G technology. The characteristic of flexible load on user side was considered and optimal dispatch analysis was made, so as to reduce the cost, to reasonably dispatch the flexible load, to reduce the discharge, to enhance the new energy output, and to increase the power-to-gas conversion efficiency. Finally, a concrete analysis was made on the optimal dispatch result of the multi-energy system using the P2G technology considering flexible load on user side in the calculating example, and optimal dispatch of the system was verified via four different scenarios. The results indicate that cooperative dispatch of multi-energy system using the P2G technology considering flexible load on user side is the most economic, and can make a contribution to absorption of new energy and P2G conversion. In this way, environmental effects and safe and stable operation of the system can be guaranteed.

Image-based fall detection and classification of a user with a walking support system

The classification of visual human action is important in the development of systems that interact with humans. This study investigates an image-based classification of the human state while using a walking support system to improve the safety and dependability of these systems. We categorize the possible human behavior while utilizing a walker robot into eight states (i.e., sitting, standing, walking, and five falling types), and propose two different methods, namely, normal distribution and hidden Markov models (HMMs), to detect and recognize these states. The visual feature for the state classification is the centroid position of the upper body, which is extracted from the user’s depth images. The first method shows that the centroid position follows a normal distribution while walking, which can be adopted to detect any non-walking state. The second method implements HMMs to detect and recognize these states. We then measure and compare the performance of both methods. The classification results are employed to control the motion of a passive-type walker (called “RT Walker”) by activating its brakes in non-walking states. Thus, the system can be used for sit/stand support and fall prevention. The experiments are performed with four subjects, including an experienced physiotherapist. Results show that the algorithm can be adapted to the new user’s motion pattern within 40 s, with a fall detection rate of 96.25% and state classification rate of 81.0%. The proposed method can be implemented to other abnormality detection/classification applications that employ depth image-sensing devices.

Gas marbles: ultra-long-lasting and ultra-robust bubbles formed by particle stabilization

摘要: Bubbles and foams are ubiquitous in daily life and industrial processes. Studying their dynamic behaviors is of key importance for foam manufacturing processes in food packaging, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. Bare bubbles are inherently fragile and transient; enhancing their robustness and shelf lives is an ongoing challenge. Their rupture can be attributed to liquid evaporation, thin film drainage and the nuclei of environmental dust. Inspired by particle-stabilized interfaces in Pickering emulsions, armored bubbles and liquid marble, bubbles are protected by an enclosed particle-entrapping liquid thin film, and the resultant soft object is termed gas marble. The gas marble exhibits mechanical strength orders of magnitude higher than that of soap bubbles when subjected to overpressure and underpressure, owing to the compact particle monolayer straddling the surface liquid film. By using a water-absorbent glycerol solution, the resulting gas marble can persist for 465 d in normal atmospheric settings. This particle-stabilizing approach not only has practical implications for foam manufacturing processes but also can inspire the new design and fabrication of functional biomaterials and biomedicines.

Controlling microbiological interfacial behaviors of hydrophobic organic compounds by surfactants in biodegradation process

摘要: Bioremediation of hydrophobic organic compounds (HOCs) contaminated soils involves several physicochemical and microbiological interfacial processes among the soil-water-microorganism interfaces. The participation of surfactants facilitates the mass transport of HOCs in both the physicochemical and microbiological interfaces by reducing the interfacial tension. The effects and underlying mechanisms of surfactants on the physicochemical desorption of soil-sorbed HOCs have been widely studied. This paper reviewed the progress made in understanding the effects of surfactant on microbiological interfacial transport of HOCs and the underlying mechanisms, which is vital for a better understanding and control of the mass transfer of HOCs in the biodegradation process. In summary, surfactants affect the microbiological interfacial behaviors of HOCs during three consecutive processes: the soil solution-microorganism sorption, the transmembrane process, and the intracellular metabolism. Surfactant could promote cell sorption of HOCs depending on the compatibility of surfactant hydrophile hydrophilic balance (HLB) with cell surface properties; while the dose ratio between surfactant and biologic mass (membrane lipids) determined the transmembrane processes. Although surfactants cannot easily directly affect the intracellular enzymatic metabolism of HOCs due to the steric hindrace, the presence of surfactants can indirectly enhanced the metabolism by increasing the substrate concentrations.

Effects of preparation methods on the activity of CuO/CeO

摘要: CO oxidation has been investigated on three CuO/CeO catalysts prepared by impregnation, co-precipitation and mechanical mixing. The origin of active sites was explored by the multiple techniques. The catalyst prepared by impregnation has more highly dispersed CuO and stronger interactions between CuO and CeO to promote the reduction of CuO to Cu species at the Cu-Ce interface, leading to its highest catalytic activity. For the catalyst prepared by co-precipitation, solid solution structures observed in Raman spectra suppress the formation of the Cu-Ce interface, where the adsorbed CO will react with active lattice oxygen to form CO , and thus it displays a lower catalytic performance. No Cu-Ce interface exists in the catalyst prepared by the mechanical mixing method due to the separate phases of CuO and CeO , resulting in its lowest activity among the three catalysts.

在空时分组编码(STBC)的MC-CDMA系统中,根据STBC正交编码的特点,提出了一种简单可行 的基于常模(CM)准则的盲多用户检测算法。该算法基于最小二乘常模算法(LSCMA)的盲多用户检测算法, 算法大为简化,抽头系数减少了一半,性能略有下降。
